
TRANSPORTATION Secretary Jaime Bautista has ordered the extension of operating hours for MRT-3, LRT-2, and LRT-1 amid the expected surge in passengers during the Christmas season.
Starting Wednesday, December 20, until Saturday, December 23, the three rail lines will have longer operating hours.
According to Secretary Bautista, the extended operating hours of the trains are in response to the Department of Transportation’s recognition of the need for transportation during the Christmas rush.
“As people attend parties, reunions, and other gatherings, let us convey the Christmas spirit by providing joy through comfortable, safe, and reliable train transportation,” said Bautista.
For DOTr MRT-3, the extended last trip schedule at North Avenue Station is at 10:30 PM, compared to the original last trip schedule of 9:30 PM. The extended last trip schedule at Taft Avenue Station is at 11:05 PM, compared to the original last trip schedule of 10:09 PM.
For LRT-1 Baclaran Station of the Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC), the extended last trip schedule is at 10:45 PM, compared to the original last trip schedule of 10:00 PM. The extended last trip schedule at Fernando Poe Jr. Station is at 11:00 PM, compared to the original last trip schedule of 10:15 PM.
Meanwhile, for the Light Rail Transit Authority-LRT2, the extended last trip schedule at Antipolo Station is at 10:00 PM, compared to the original last trip schedule of 9:00 PM. The extended last trip schedule at Recto Station is at 10:30 PM, compared to the original last trip schedule of 9:30 PM.
