Marcos Jr. signs into law the Enhanced Fiscal Regime for Large-Scale Metallic Mining Act (Republic Act 12253) during a simple ceremony at Kalayaan Hall, Malacañang Palace Thursday, Sept. 4, 2025. The two House leaders were among the lawmakers who stood as witnesses to the historic signing. The new law simplifies and rationalizes the fiscal regime for large-scale metallic mining, while upholding the principles of transparency, accountability and good governance in the mining industry.
