THE most recent Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey found that 35 percent of Filipino adults believed their lives improved in the past 12 months.
Conducted from June 25 to 29, the latest SWS quarterly national survey showed that 35 percent of Filipino adults said their quality of life was better than 12 months before.
On the other hand, 23 percent of Filipino adults thought their lives had gotten worse over the past year. Meanwhile, 42 percent of Filipino adults reported that their lives were the same as a year ago.
As adults who said they were better off now than 12 months ago outnumbered those who claimed they were worse off than a year ago, SWS said the net “gainers” score of +12 was “very high.”
In fact, this was the highest net score since December 2024, when the net score was at +13, according to the SWS.
“It is definitely good news. The administration welcomes the result of the survey,” Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said.
“And Filipinos can rest assured that their government will continue to work hard to improve the condition and quality of life of every citizen, especially those who need it most,” Castro added.
According to the SWS, the survey asking respondents to assess their change in quality of life over the past 12 months began in April 1983.
The Second Quarter 2025 Social Weather Survey was conducted from June 25-29, 2025, using face-to-face interviews of 1,200 individuals who are 18 years old and above, nationwide.
The survey interviewed 300 respondents each in Metro Manila, Balance Luzon (or Luzon outside Metro Manila), the Visayas, and Mindanao.
The survey items were non-commissioned and included on SWS’ initiative and released as a public service.
