THE Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), through its Migrant Workers’ Office in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (MWO-Jeddah), reports that no Filipinos were injured in a building that collapsed in central Jeddah last Friday, 31 May 2024.
MWO-Jeddah reported to Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac that they visited the incident site and several nearby hospitals to check for any Filipinos taken there for treatment.
Local media reports at least eight people have been rescued from the collapsed structure.
MWO-Jeddah assures that they will continue monitoring the situation and staying in touch with the Jeddah police, medical, and emergency services agencies to ensure the safety of Filipinos.
MWO-Jeddah will provide updates to the DMW Central Office as necessary.
