TWENTY-EIGHT fire brigade teams from various locators inside the Clark Freeport took their oath yesterday during the observance of National Fire Prevention month.
Members of the fire brigade teams were sworn in by Clark Development Corporation (CDC) chairman attorney Edgardo D. Pamintuan who also served as the guest of honor and speaker during the event.
According to Pamintuan, the formation of fire brigade teams for various locators in the Freeport is a component of the state-owned firm’s safety and security program.
Pamintuan also emphasized the importance of being prepared for home and workplace fire emergencies.
“Napaka importante na alam natin kung paano tayo magreresponde sa mga pagkakataon na magkakaroon ng sunog. This is something that we should all be aware because safety is a shared responsibility,” he said.
Also present during the event were CDC vice president for Security Services Group (SSG) PMGen. Keith Ernald Singian (ret.), CDC Public Safety Division (PSD) manager BGen. Antonio Rosario Jr., and CDC PSD assistant manager Robin Cenzon.

With this month’s theme “Sa Pag-iwas sa Sunog, Hindi ka Nag-iisa,” the month of March was designated as “Fire Prevention Month” or “Burn Prevention Month” through Proclamation No. 360, which was signed in 1986 by then-President Ferdinand E. Marcos.
The campaign encourages the public to be safety conscious on a year-round basis as a positive preventive approach to a problem that can be solved by increased caution, vigilance, sobriety, the use of common sense, and respect for the law.
